Stitch and B...ch!

I belong to a Stitch and B....ch, uhhh,Visit, group.  Last night we met at my place.  My husband was confined to the family room to watch TV.

One person was finishing off a pink knitted bear she is giving her little granddaughter as soon as it's done.   Another girl was working on a scarf.   This scarf is made using ultra fine variegated yarn.  I believe she purchased it online from a small home based company.   My friend for over forty years was doing cross stitch on a cushion she started in 1980 or thereabouts!   She pulled it out and is finishing it!   One of our group members is a sometimes crafter who really likes to come and enjoy the b....ching.

We are a close-knit little group and have seen each other through cancer, abuse issues from the past, deaths, marriages, and all else that makes up a life.  I am so very grateful to have these women as my friends.   We all know that the stitching, although well enjoyed by all of us, is not the main reason we meet.  It is the support, kindness and caring that envelope each of us in our small circle, that has kept our group going for the last five years.

People have come and gone from the group. For some, a move was made to another community and for others, I guess the "fit" wasn't right.   But for those of us who stayed, it has become one of trust, laughter, crafting, visiting and relaxation for a few hours most Mondays from September to June.   I am blessed.

Oh yes!  I forgot to tell you!   I am knitting a pair of socks - my favourite thing to put on my needles...
